What a month actually is
The year is cut by the sun, not by the calendar
The boundaries that decide your chart are not dates. Each one is the moment the sun reaches another multiple of 15° along its yearly path, and the twelve longer ticks are the ones that open a month.
That is why your month can differ from the calendar month you were born in, and why the year turns in early February rather than on 1 January. We ship 3,864 of these moments, computed and then checked against the national observatory’s published figures.
